Once again, the web site software has been updated with the latest patch. Please leave feedback if you discover something has gone awry (something on the web site, genius—I know the government went awry well before you were born).

Comrades, the KGB’s annual Belgian Blow Out is coming up on October 2nd, and seats are limited. The first 20 people who sign up for the event will reserve their place at the trough of delicious beers. If you need assistance, please contact me. Over the years, this event has evolved into a pot luck dinner and attendees are encouraged to bring something in keeping with the Belgian theme. Make something that hails from Belgium or something that includes a Belgian beer, for instance. General Secretary Chris Landis will (most likely) supply the main dish, so sides and desserts are what’s needed. The cost of the BBO is $30 per person, and Ruble Collector Phillip Kaufman will collect your money at the event. For this price, you’ll get a taste of every Belgian Beer that Commissar Brewski Donald Sajda could get his hands on. Just to wet your appetite, here’s a list of some of the beers we’ll sample. This list is many months old and Donald has added several more to it as he stumbled upon them. Red Hook Triple, Lindemanns Framboise, Lindemanns Cassis, Celis Raspberry, Brooklyn Brewery Brett, Rodon Small Beer, Celis Grand Cru, Victory Golden Monkey, Petrus Triple, Blue Moon Garn Cru, Stone Vertical Epic 03, Stone Vertical Epic 04, Stone Vertical Epic 06, Stone Vertical Epic 07, Stone Vertical Epic 09, Witches Brew, 2 Turtle Doves, Ultra Blonde, Horney Devil, New Glarus Cranberry, New Glarus Cherry, New Glarus Raspberry, Malheur Brutt, The Beast 2004, St Bernardous 60th Anniversary, St Bernardous Triple, St Bernardous Prior 8, St Bernardous ABT 12, Pink Blossom, Andrson Valley Triple, Allagash Black, Avery 16 Saison, Ommegang Chocolate Indulgence, Mikkeller Mons Brew, Westvleteren 6, Pannepeut 2008, Elliot brew, Allagash Victor, Victor 2009, Ommegang, Konings Bock, Scaldis Refermentee, Scaldis Peche, Dieu Du Ciel Peche, Dieu Du Ciel Equinoxe, Brasserie d'Ecaussinnes Ultrablonde, Brasserie de Blaugies Darbyste, Brasserie du Val de, Sambre Abbaye D'Aulne, Triple Blonde Spec Ale, Brasserie Fantome Dark White, Brasserie Lefebvre Floreffe Prima Melior, Brasserie Van Steenberge Witches Brew, Brouwerij Roman Adriaen Brouwer Dark Gold, De Proef Brouwerij, Flemish Primitive Wild Ale - 2008 Vintage Res, De Proef Brouwerij Monstre Rouge-Imperial Flanders Red Ale, Microbrasserie Les Trois Mousquetaires Weizen Imperiale As in the last couple of years, the BBO will be held at the Minister of Propaganda’s house. You may remember reading about the tragic events that took down the KGB web site for a while over the Labor Day weekend. If not, suffice to say that I plopped an upgrade to the web site over the top of the existing code and it crashed like the Hindenburg. (You’d be surprised how hard it is to rid your office of that burnt canvas smell.) Anyway, today I got busy and tried doing things another way. Lo and behold, the process went without 47 hitches this time and we’re all up to date, code-wise, around here. Not only that, you can add comments to these entries on the home page. Just click on the corresponding Comments link under a story and give us your 2¢. As always, if you catch the web site doing peculiar (as opposed to peculier) things, please let me know.

Looks like folks will be using comrade Chris Landis’ (with a little help from St. Arnold) Divine Reserve 10 as election day lubrication. Y’all be careful out there. There are laws against harassing people at the polls.
