Happy New Year KGB Members. I am a long time Sugar Land area home brewer, not affiliated with any club, but well known to the folks at Defalcos.
I have decided to sell my home brewery system and thought I would post it here in case any KGB members are interested. The brewing system described below and in the photos is complete, including the cooling system. All one needs to brew are the ingredients, a carboy, and a few minor items described in 4 below that I can also provide upon request.
Description:
1) More Beer 3-Tier Brew 5/10 Gallon Brew Scuplture 8-9 years old and in excellent condition. Weighs 70 lbs empty. Dimensions: 70 in. x 37 in. x 28 in. Totally reconditioned and repainted with automotive engine paint. No rust. Professional welder added supports on tiers 1 and 3 to accommodate "off the shelf commercial kettles" and he added a burner on tier 3. Both burners and the dual shutoff value propane gas line are new.
2) Three Polarware stainless steel kettles with lids and Bleichman thermometers. Two are 10 gal. capacity and one is 8 gal. capacity. The 10 gal. kettles have Polarware false bottoms for mashing and boiling. There is also one stainless screw-in screen that is useful for mashing large volumes of grain. These kettles are in excellent shape and are about 1 year old.
3) One More Beer 15 gal. stainless kettle 8-9 years old with new Bleichman thermometer and false bottom. This kettle is slightly dented mid-way up the side but otherwise is fully functional and does not leak. The lid is notched to accommodate the large copper coil for in-kettle wort chilling. I use this 15 gal. kettle to boil 10 gal. batches. For 5 gal. batches I use the 10 gal. kettle to boil. The 10 gal. mash kettle (with screw-in screen) can mash at least 24 pounds of grain.
4) Two copper coil wort chillers with garden hose attachments. They are sized for 5 and 10 gallon batches. I always use both, regardless of the batch size. One goes in the kettle and the other serves as an inline prechiller in a plastic tub of ice water that I run through the wort chiller coil. This is an easy "hands-off" chilling method. In addition to these coils, all one needs is the tub, a garden hose hooked up to home water supply, and ice to use this system. Alternatively, a small pump from Lowes can drive the ice water through the copper coil. I can provide these extra items upon request (except for the ice!).
5) Accessories: Mash paddle from William's Brewing in excellent shape, various plastic and steel stir spoons, carboy drainer, high-temperature hoses and stainless steel hose barbs (two sizes) for all kettles.
Price for all the above: $1000.
*** I have three additional pieces of equipment that I can sell separately or negotiate into the sale of the brew system. These are (1) a complete Northern Brewer Stir Plate/Erlenmeyer flask system for making big yeast starters, (2) a Barley Crusher Malt Mill, and (3) a William's Brewery Wort Oxygenation system. These three items are all one year old or less and are in excellent condition.
