Say hello to Brunhilde, the latest addition to my brewing arsenal. As you can see, she comfortably nestles two carboys in her busom, and she holds her temper(ature) quite well. Thermostat and Fridge together were less than $70.00

Here she is in action:

I have an independent thermometer to keep an eye on the thermostat. I'm happy to say that they are within 0.3 degrees of each other. The blow off tube leads to a water bottle mounted securely in the door. All in all, it's a very simple, straightforward setup.

The recipe is a Samuel Adams Boston Lager clone (thanks for the book reference, Mark). Just brewed today (Sunday, Feb 7), so it'll probably be the April meeting before I'm able to share the results with you. Until then.

Cool,

now get that other carboy full so that you aren't wasting any room in that cooler.

Man you need to install a second shelf to increase your lagering capabilites.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who was brewing on SuperBowl Sunday. So what do you call a Dunkelweizen when you do it as a lager??

Umm, Sam Adams Winter Lager?

I totally agree with you on the need for more shelving. It's a painful waste of space to have just one carboy in there.
