Comrades,
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the brewhouse, I turn up like a bad penny. It's been over 6 years since I've darkened the doorways of any KGB member meeting or activity, but I'm ready. After attending the Dixie Cup over the past weekend I have the fever all over again.
I've still been brewing (all grain), doing my own thing, but enough of that. I want to, no... need to learn at the knee of a wiser brewer. I want to enter brewing contests and have a showing at least. I need to know what I am doing right and what I need to do better.
I've got a horizontal 10 gallon setup of keggles and 10 gallon Rubbermaid cooler mashtun, a motorized grain mill, a couple of stir plates, a "keezer" big enough for 8 cornies and a window A/C unit in a box fermentation chamber big enough for 2-14 gallon Fermanators (which I don't own yet). The point is, I should be able to make GREAT beer, but making great beer takes more than just equipment and I think, after 10 years, I've finally learned that.
Anyone want to mentor me?
